Bio

I am interested in contributing research of African American communities where family members lived and cemeteries where family members are interred. African American family members who migrated to San Augustine County, TX during the mid 1800s, settled near the Attoyac River in St. John Community, and established the African American St. John Baptist Church and St. John Cemetery. My primary focus is to discover as many undocumented family members interred in St. John Cemetery and other cemeteries in which the associated families are interred as a result of moving from St. John Community and branching out in other communities in San Augustine, such as Antioch Community who do not have markers to identify their gravesites. If you know you are a family member or know of anyone interred in St. John Cemetery that is not listed, please send me an email with the information, and I will add it.
