My grandfather instilled my love of family history in 1979. While visiting during Christmas break, he opened a chest and showed me pictures, letters, diaries and family group sheets he had been compiling for more than 40 years. I am overwhelmed thinking of the many hours he spent writing letters and visiting town halls and cemeteries searching for his family members. I am honored to continue his work. Most of my ancestors lived in New England. Thanks to this site, I have found distant cousins across the country.
