My Smith family was a larger family that emigrated from Mendham, Suffolk Co., England in about 1832. The family immigrated to Charlottetown, PEI, Canada. From there some moved to Taunton, MA, Detroit, Mich, LaSalle IL, and Australia. I am presently researching the Smiths in Taunton, MA. They are George, Eli, James and Phoebe.There are also Jonas who died in Detroit and Jemima who died in Ransom, Ill. I'll work on them later. There is also a John Patient that immigrated to Australia and opened a tinsmith shop in Brisbane. He married and had a number of children.I live in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada.
