Bio

I'm John G. O'Connell, III,
began researching with the
death of My Grandmother
Mabel Gladys Troutman
Holzbauer in January 1989
in San Diego, CA and My Dad,
the late, John G. O'Connell, Jr.,
(1922-2002), who had been
researching his (Our) O'Connell
lineage quietly for many years,
inquired of me to go with him to
the nearby LDS/Family History
Library near Greenville, S. C.
I'm still working these family lines:
O'Connell-Holzbauer, Barwin/Behrwindt
/Schweinfest-Jones, Holzbauer-Troutman,
Troutman-Butler (as of the Eli Ambrose
Troutman-Mary Butler Oliver Troutman
marriage (1852-1894), his 4th marriage;
(have been working the other marriages
and the descendants from the other Eli
Ambrose Troutman children.); O'Connell-
Foster, Jones-Smith, Holzbauer-Scherner,
Troutman-Brooker/Brugger, O'Connell-Sheehen/Sheehan/Shea/Keeting/Keating,
Scherner-Halle, Brooker-Updegrove/
Uptegraft, Troutman-Spurgeon/Spurgin-
Robinett, Troutman-Beard/Baird, Brugger
(Brooker)-Wild/Wildi back to Switzerland,
Holzbauer-Kohl back to Bayer (Bavaria),
Butler-Beals/Woodkirk back to England
1600; Zellers-Imhoffs.
I'm 73, Born in March (1945), born
in Plymouth, Marshall County, Indiana
and not traveling for research at this
time, using the Great Internet! Some
of My Troutman's are DAR, as noted
from through John Michael Troutman
(1738-1814) of Maryland/Kentucky
Revolutionary War service in Kentucky,
Maryland, and Pennsylvania; and Civil
War Veterans from Indiana, Connecticut,
New York. and other states.
I am a Vietnam War Era veteran serving
in the United States Navy and Naval
Reserve from 1963-1969. Retiree since
2004. Formerly married with two adult
children, Heather Lynn & John Adam.
