Bio and Links
Bio Photo Even though I really enjoy researching my family history, my purpose and calling in life is to serve as a missionary for my Lord Jesus Christ. I serve through World Gospel Mission (Marion, Indiana) in Bolivia, South America, which has been my home since 1986. I am an ordained minister, a seminary professor and have been somewhat of a writer.

I was born in Ohio, spending much of my growing up years in that state. My wife is a New Englander and our two children were born here in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

My interest in genealogy began when I started sifting through old papers and boxes of photos following the death of my maternal grandfather in 1979. It is a fun hobby of solving mysteries of the past and learning more about history.

I hope some of the information and photographs that I'm posting will be a help to others in their own quest to learn more about their family roots. If you think we share some common ancestry, I'll be pleased to share what I know.

RE: Moffett Cemetery Browns
See Sarah # 99437746, see the type of stone I'm talking about and how they scale off. Sarah was wife of John Brown, But, the two listed aren't Sarah's John. He has the same type stone. I believe that John & Sarah were Ben's Parents. ?? People have not linked to many spouses/parents in this lot.

I see where John Daily Brown #77377576 is son of Benjamin and his 3rd wife Martha Moffett .

I did find Josiah he grew up and married...

RE: Stone inscription inquiry
I went back yesterday and took several more photos. but couldn't make out anything other than aged 23 years...

The first word starts with a V, I thought Vengeance??? Last words was-- so empty. 4 lines.

Will be back up week of 9th gonna try rubbing it with soapstone. It washes away .This is imprinted very shallow...Do you think the church may have recorded verse?

I also noticed that there was no stone for her son Josiah.. Sarah and Mary were next to her. to Her left there was a partial stone, that kind that crumbles, was that Benjamin's her husband?

RE: Isaac L. Woods
Hi Mike! Thank you for contacting me. I am very thankful for the family information you have shared on this site.

At this point, I just need to prove I am of these families, being adopted at birth, I was finally released my birth mother's name in 2015. I met her soon after and she gave me the name of who she said my father is. Sadly he died in 1998 and I just need to know for sure if I am his daughter. I seem to be matching with the paternal surnames that I have put in my public Ancestry tree.

So for now I keep busy trying to contribute as much I as I can back to Find A Grave since it has helped me so much these past two years. Trying to make up for my lifetime of unknown heritage has put me on a fast track of cemetery photography. Nice to meet you and warm regards!

"Jacob & Ladocia Loucks are my GGG Grandparents. William & Susannah Campbell Loucks
are my GG Grandparents" - this from a relative I had contacted who was a part of the Loucks family reunion - Qhio, 2000; additional correspondance includes - "The Loucks took us up to the top of a hill in Centenary Cemetery, Green Twp, Ohio, where both William & Margaret are buried.
Their daughter Mary Loucks Thevinin is buried right behind them with another daughter Sally DeWitt buried next to her"...

RE: Nellie (Nance) Fudge
After you note, I noticed that I am distantly related to Nellie's husband Henry Fudge through my fathers side. I think I am related to everyone in Lawrence County.

I'm sorry I don't have a picture of Nellie or a story. I know Rick Platt is also related. If I find anything in my mothers family I will let you know.

Sarah Cox Photo Request
Hi, I have just gotten a copy of the new Lucasville Cemetery Directory and I checked for Sarah Cox's name and it is not listed. It was done by the Lucasville Historical Society with help from Tom Adkins work in 1999 when they walked the cemetery. It has been updated to this year. However there may be no stone to read. The sextant for the cemetery is in his 80's and says that some records of burial in the early years are lost. His record books are in bad shape due to age of the books. Hope this will help let you know why your request for a photo has not been answered.
