I am an avid genealogist and love poking around in cemeteries especially in Monroe and Wayne counties, New York. I am in the process of posting my hundreds of gravestone photos taken over the last 12 years to Find A Grave.|

I moved last year and inadvertently left the headstone at my former house (in Greece). I'll call the current residents and work on getting the stone back in my possession. Then we can move forward with your plan.
Regards, Bill Jones
I live in Hamlin these days, so travel is not a problem.

Here's the strange, and sad, history of the Mary Hart headstone. About 5 years ago, I came across it in a pile of debris in the maintenance area of Mt. Hope Cemetery. They told me that it had been dropped off there by a sheriff's deputy. The deputy had found it alongside a road in Monroe County. I did a little research and found that it had been in that small Fishell Cemetery in Rush. The cemetery is in a farmer's field and not well cared for. I've never gotten around to returning the headstone to "somewhere". The headstone is now in the basement of the house in Greece where I lived at that time - since sold. Perhaps this summer I'll retrieve the stone. I'm open to suggestions.
Regards, Bill Jones

Thanks for touching base. I added Herbert and Alvena as Sylvia's parents. I have to say that I'm glad you provided the connection (which was my suspicion) and also that I just happened to take a random photo of her grave marker when it was there last year. Actually, when I was working on the photo request for Burton Moore, went through the cemetery records to see who else was in the plot, and discovered that I'd added the memorial for Sylvia, I was a little surprised. Just a "luck" situation that I took the photo! If you would like me to transfer the memorial, let me know.
Lol..Carol... you are my godmother as well

To the best of my knowledge,the Monroe County page is the only information I'm aware of. If you Facebook, I have an album for this cemetery including pictures of the overall cemetery...not just the stones. If you do find out more information I'd love to hear about it!! With only a few burials there,I'd love to restore the cemetery and have all the stones placed back up. Please keep me informed and I'd love to help anyway I can!

Thank you for a speedy reply.
I think the child I'm looking for died in 1876 about June/july, of suicide via arsenic at the Wabash river in Vermillion and Parke county border at Hillsdale and Montezuma, Indiana.
Just eliminating the two other possibilities of which I can't seem to eliminate Luetta J. Main or Luella Main

Glad to help in any way I can.
|Mark Gossoo||John Moore|
Just transferred him to you.
Sorry, but I don't know any details about him or his possible war service. I don't have any connection to him-- I just used to work in Mendon near this cemetery.
