Bio

Researching mine and my husband's families is a great joy which gives me a purpose in life. I came across Find a Grave and felt this was the site for me. It enables all to immortalize the departed forever.

STOP CREATING MEMORIALS FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE STILL ALIVE.

My pet peeve with the contributors on this site are the so-called memorials that have simply a name with a picture of a cemetery; some have dates and some have a picture of the gravestone. PEOPLE--THESE ARE NOT MEMORIALS. Without dates, duplicates are rampant because there are too many people with the same name; not to mention there is no way of knowing if the person is a relative to be linked to another memorial or the same person for whome you are trying to establish a memorial. If I send you a bio, PLEASE post it. I put a lot of time into researching and the departed DESERVE to be remembered as a person; NOT just a body under the ground with a rock on their head.

Look at the bottom of every memorial that is created--it says "Maintained By". This means dates, bios, family links, burials. If your memorials do not have all the data listed above, you have not created a valid memorial and are wasting your time and the time of others who are researching family or trying not to duplicate.

I transfer memorials to people who are relatives and have even transferred to people who were only friends because there were no relatives.

I happily make changes, corrections, additions, etc. I want my memorials to be complete and accurate.
