DYER DATE STANLEY
Hello Orrin:

I am a community archaeology student @ Schenectady County Community College in Schenectady, NY. We are currently working on a project at 48 Washington Avenue in the Historic Stockade District; the property is residential.

In the back yard of this home are 4 gravestones propped up along a fence. The owners have told us that there are no graves, just the stones. Of interest to you, is that 2 of them are for a Mr. Date "StanDley" (obviously a spelling error) with the same death date listed on Find A Grave memorial #145156044, for which you have requested a photo.

One stone is clearly a headstone, with the same inscription as is listed on the above mentioned memorial. The second appears to be a footstone with the inscription "Mr. DaLe StanDley"

One of the other stones is for Albert Stanley, son of Elijah (brother of Date) and Ann Stanley.

I was wondering what your connection was to these folks, and if we could mutually help each other with any information. How and why did these stones end up in Schenectady County?

Thank you so much for your time,
Sincerely,
Samantha Cleveland Find A Grave #47158165

Well Orrin,

That didn't pan out. Find A Grave only lists one Memorial Park Cemetery in the entire state. Rats!

If in fact Harold was buried in Advance, might have to search for a cemetery sexton.

Orrin,
Does the obit make reference where in Wisconsin Harold died? There could be many Memorial Park cemeteries. If we knew approximately where he died, and if there's a Memorial Park near that location, it might narrow the search.

Just for the heck of it, think I'll check if there are other Memorial Park cemeteries in Wisconsin.

Might get lucky and locate Harold.

I don't need know if I ever got back to you regarding the photos of the graves for the Atwood family. Please feel free to use them. Sorry for the long delay. It's been some time since I've been on the desktop version of the website.

Hi Orren!

Do you have any further information regarding Henry Eklund? I cannot find an obituary for him, and know nothing further about his family.

I have been photographing the headstones at Elmwood Cemetery for the past six months. I took the photo of Henry's headstone yesterday afternoon. I would like to get further information regarding any family connections at Elmwood Cemetery.

Thanks for your help.
