|Perry W. Caldwell||Flora Merritt/Hayden Calder|
Age at death (according to headstone 1885/1974) was 88 (Oct. to Apr.). Flora was 71 years old when she arrived in Massachusetts from Southampton, England.
Flora's first husband Frank Calder died in 1933 in England long before Flora came to the US.The records I found were not clear if Flora married a "Hayden" in England or in the US. No telling why the family choose Calder for her headstone.
Thanks for your interest.
Perry W. Caldwell
|Kevin B.||Memorial # 75659609|
I sent you some edits for this memorial which need to be reviewed. Her stone indicates that she died in 1884 at age 20. How is it possible that she was married to a man who died in 1860? She was actually married to his nephew of the same name who had remarried and died in Montana. Thanks.

You are most welcome for the photo, I'm pleased that I could help.
I noticed that you have photo requests for Charles and Minnie Sandberg. I found their obituaries (plus Hannah's) and included them below. Thought you might wish to include them on their memorials.
On a less cheerful note, your photo requests for Louisa and Wesley Ottman cannot be fulfilled. I know exactly where they're buried, and there are no headstones. I'm a bit surprised, I couldn't even find an obituary for Wesley. He was a fairly prominent citizen in Sycamore. He owned several buildings and was one of the first in Sycamore to get electric lighting.
True Republican, 3 October 1891
Mr. Charles Sandberg, brother-in-law of Charles and Gust Johnson, of this city, died in Chicago on Sunday.
He was 39 years of age, and leaves a widow and five children.
The remains were brought to Sycamore on Monday and the funeral was held on Tuesday.
True Republican, 28 March 1908
Minnie Florence Sandberg died at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Peterson, 658 West Edward street, in this city, after an illness of about a year and a half of consumption on Thursday morning.
She was born in Chicago on July 22, 1885. Her father, Alferd Sandberg, died there some 18 years ago. Seven years ago she removed with her mother, Hannah Sandberg, to Sycamore, and here they had since made their home, for a number of years at the corner of South Locust and Lincoln streets.
There are surviving three sisters, Mrs. Ella Swanson, of Rockford, Freda, who teaches in the Pleasant Hill district northwest of Sycamore, and Emma, who resides in Sycamore, and one brother Frank, whose whereabouts is at present unknown.
The funeral services will be held at the Swedish Lutheran church on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, and will be conducted by the pastor of that church, Rev. M. Frykman, and the pastor of the Methodist church, Rev. E. G. Cattermole. The interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
True Republican, 13 November 1942
Mrs. Hannah Sandberg, age 88, a former well known resident of this city, passed away Thursday, November 12, at the home of her daughter in Aurora. The decedent suffered a paralytic stroke several days ago, from which she did not recover.
Mrs Sandberg was born in Sweden on November 7, 1854. The first years of her married life were spent in Sycamore and after, living in Chicago for some time, she again made Sycamore her place of residence. Five years ago she went to Aurora to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. G. G. Johnson.
Survivors are her daughter, Mrs. Johnson, two sisters, Mrs. C. F. Johnson of Chicago and Mrs. Gust E. Nelson of Sycamore, also five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one niece, Miss Lillian Johnson, Sycamore, and a nephew, Harvey Johnson of Chicago. Mrs. Sandberg was the sister of the late Gus E. and C. O. Johnson, twin brothers, of this city.
Funeral rites are to be accorded Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Johnson Funeral Home here. The Rev. David Gustafson, pastor of the Marion Avenue Baptist church of Aurora will officiate. Interment will take place at Elmwood cemetery.

|Charles Drewes||Prudence AMANDA Wilson|
I keep the records for Shattuck's Grove Cemetery and I have no record of Prudence Wilson's burial in that cemetery. What evidence or proof do you have that she is buried there?

Please accept my most humble apology for the slow response.
As far as I know, there are no Florian surnames in my family tree. In fact, I am not related to any of the memorials that I manage.
Unfortunately, I'm not understanding exactly what you're trying to tell/ask me about Donald. I see that there is a Donald Louis Florian Jr., born/died in 1944 and interred at Glendale, CA., and then Donald L. Florian, born 1920/died 1991 that is interred at Mount Carmel in Sycamore. There is also a Donald Ransom Florian interred in Connecticut, born 1927/died 2012, but it doesn't appear that he ever lived anywhere other than the east coast. Obviously, there could be other Donald Florians that haven't yet been listed on Find-A-Grave.
