thanks for sharing that story. Bet it was gorgeous! no wonder you'd like to grow orchids.
let me know if you give it a try again! :-)

try try one of the Phalaenopsis orchids you can get inexpensively in most good grocery stores. Don't use the ice cube gimmick, they like warm water running all the way through bottom holes and wetting top exposed roots. Never let bottom sit in water. Drain and let dry some, water once a week and don't sit in full sun at window. good luck.

RE: Emm/Emms & Rehder photograph.
All I found on Larry was that he was born Oct. 8, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA and Died April 7, 2011 in Las Vegas, NV. His wife's name is Sandy. If I find out anything else, I'll let you know.

RE: Emm/Emms & Rehder photograph.
I have posted the photo of Dean & Theresa on Dean's site.

I live in Louisiana. Theresa was my great aunt on my mother's side. Theresa and her mother lived in Garden Grove.

I did find out that Larry was living in Pahrump,NV near Las Vegas. But don't know where he was buried. I'll see what I can find out.

Are you related to the Rehder's?

Doing family research, Nancy and Dayton are my daughters great, great grandparents. I only see headstone for Nancy. There were 2 or 3 other markers near by, wondering if those are the Gladys, Theodore and Dayton. Any info on the family would be appreciated.

Thomas Van Tassel
RE: A. E. P. Van Tassel.
According to Daniel Van Tassel in his Van Tassel Genealogy there is a Richard W. Van Tassel (born 30 Apr 1822, died 9 Mar 1875) married (1844) to Elizabeth Parrot (born 1824) daughter of Samuel Parrot of Ridgebury, Orange Co., NY. Richard W. & Ann E. Van Tassel show up in the 1850 US Census in Hoboken, NJ and later in the 1865 NY State Census in Elmira, Chemung Co., NY which is in line with the Van Tassel Genealogy which has Richard W. removing to Elmira NY where he died. Children (according to David Van Tassel & the Census records mentioned above) were Samuel, Anna, William, George, Adelia & Cora. Lastly I couldn't help but notice that A. E. P. could easily stand for Ann Elizabeth Parrot. I don't know whether that's just a weird coincidence or what. Anyway, thanks for contacting me, sorry about being so slow to answer and I sincerely hope some of the blather above helps in some way.
