I've been researching my own family tree but I've had problems starting with my father. My mother divorced him on the grounds of desertion when I was 7 and we didn't see him much after that either. My mother said that he changed his name for some reason, or his father changed his name or something. I did finally order his death certificate and then used the SSN on it to order his SS application. Unfortunately, they wouldn't send it to me because the name didn't match! Maybe the name change rumor is true! I re-requested it with more background story--and more pleading.

I'm having better luck with my mother's side but not much better. That goes into Puerto Rico and then Spain.

So I enjoy it when I can help someone else get some progress toward their tree and Find-A-Grave is just another way to do that.
