I got into being a Graver while I was doing mine and my husband's genealogy, family trees. Not only do I add obituaries on here, I try to connect families with families, children with their parents, etc.
I noticed a lot of people that I knew who had passed away that were cremated and weren't in the system so I wanted to make sure that they were never forgotten. Now when a person I know passes away, being a family member, friend, acquaintance, someone from my old neighborhood, or from my present town I add their obituary. I live in Standish, Michigan (White's Beach). I grew up in Saginaw, Michigan, but have been in the White's Beach area for 29 years. I have been married for 36 years, I have 4 children, 3 step-children, 10 grandchildren and 14 step-grandchildren.
Anyone wishing to transfer any of my memorials that I created and take over maintenance of a family member, by all means email me and I will transfer it. Unless it is a memorial of mine or my husband's direct family member. Thank you. I am not like most of these people on here, I don't do this to get as many people as I can on here. I take the time to write the obituary and if someone asks to correct something or add something or asks to transfer it to them, I will. It's my job to manage the Obituaries that I add on FindAGrave and if I have too many than I can't do that. Some people have thousands of people on their FindAGrave account. If I ask someone to do something to update or correct something for me on one of my family members or transfer it to me and they don't, I will make a new one for myself.
