Bio and Links
Bio Photo Daughter of Arthur L. Blakeslee (1917-1993) and Dorothy M. Sturdivant (1918-2010). I am a descendant of Capt. David Blakeslee and his son Reuben. I am also looking for any information on my paternal Grandmothers family; Merilla Hatch from Crawford Co., PA. Also my Maternal Grandfathers family; Charles Bonner Davis of Greene Twp, Erie Co., PA. I was born and raised in Erie, PA. Many of my siblings have moved to the gulf coast of Florida.
I enjoy genealogy and photography. i Collect Dolls, doll related items and postcards of Dolls or Historical Sites. Will add photos of memorials in the Erie area if requested and time permits. I work full time as an Accounting Manager and take care of a few Senior Citizens.
If I have listed a memorial of your loved one and it includes an error or incomplete information (i.e. date or place of birth, death, spelling), feel free to let me know and I will make the correction

FAMILY NAMES: These are the names I am researching. If you know of any connections to these names please drop me a note.
Blakeslee /aka Blakesley, Blakesly
Sturdivant / aka Sturdevant
Buffin / aka Buffum, Buffun
Robison, /aka Robinson
and many others in my extended family.

I am the 7th Generation American on my Paternal side and 5th Generation American on my Maternal side. Irish-Scotch & English Decendent & Cherokee Indian.
My Maternal Side of the family were founders of Wesleyville, Erie Co., Pa. My Paternal Side were involved in the Founding of Spartansburg, Crawford Co., PA.

I live in Erie County, PA and have been doing extensive genealogy research in Erie County since 1964. I have researched extensively Wales Cemetery, Greene Township, Erie Co., PA and I am currently working with the "Wales Cemetery Association" in documenting the burials in this Cemetery.

As long as they are not relatives of mine, I am willing to transfer any memorials to anyone who is related to the deceased, regardless of number of generations, or direct descendancy. I would rather see the memorials be in the hands of those that have known and loved them.

Any photos that I take for this website may be used for any genealogical, or historical reason, but PLEASE remember to give me the credit for the photos.

RE: James Biggs - Wales
There must have been a hiccup because it reads perfectly now. Before, the place of his death was in the second paragraph, not the first.

Hi "Cuz",
Edits for the first 5 types (Birth/Death, Relationship links, Name, Plot/GPS, & Marker transcription) will be auto-approved by the system in 21 days if not acted upon by the memorial manager.

Edits for the 6th option "Suggest any other..." that are forwarded to the edit@findagrave email address are currently back-logged to Sept. 24th, so any that you forwarded after that date should be accomplished soon.

It takes patience, my dear. I wouldn't get too excited about it unless nothing is done by the end of Oct. I still have the CC of the one I sent to you and check every few days. If it's still undone by Halloween, I'll forward it to the "Great Pumpkin" for ya. ^_^

Take care and God bless,

93077606 Memorial for Orenda Knight Bradley Martin
Hi Carole: I noted your memorial you set up for Orenda Knight Bradley Martin, who would have been my 3rd Great Aunt. In my research, I was never able to come up with the Bradley maiden name for her, can you link me up to that info? Also, I have found two more children born and survived through a number of years to the union of Orenda Knight Martin and James Madison Martin: Martin A Martin who appears in the 1880 Census in Erie, Erie Co PA as a "publisher" but living with his parents; and Helen A Martin who appears in the 1850 and 1860 Census with the family in Sandy Creek, Venango Co, PA. I have yet to discover DOD for either of those two children.

You sent me the wrong memorial #. I researched and added links to all the family I could. If you have any bio info for him, please send it by the edit tab and I will add it.

Rose Hill Info
hi Carole,

I too am a direct descendant of Reuben and David Blakeslee. My line traces down through William to Eva Blakeslee who married Alexander Bennett.

I am trying to find any information on early burials in Rose Hill. My Bennett line has many burials in Rose Hill, but the one I need specifically is Wolcott Bennett. He is buried next to his son, Nelson. Wolcott and his wife, Sarah, are there, but the tombstone contains no birth or death information. Wolcott died some time between 1860 and 1870. Sarah between 1850 and 1860.

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

thank you,
Rebecca Bennett Biddle

Hello Carole I posted a photo postcard death notice on this young man. I came across it among my great aunt's and my grandmothers photos, I'm thinking he or his family may have been friends......I sent a correction request as he was listed as "daughter"

Thank You!
Hi Carole,
I am finally getting around to activity on Find A Grave, thanks to your gracious help last year.

This morning I added a picture of my father, Harold Dallas Kelley, to his Find A Grave page.

I'll never get done with our genealogy. Maybe you have noticed that too.
