I did locate Lester's grave. His name was Lawrence Lester and his birth date was July 8, 1899 according to his Social Security Death Record. In 1900 Census that was dated 9 June 1900, he was listed as 10/12 in age. Every Census after that supports the 1899 year. On this memorial the birth day and month match up and he is buried in Nevada like I thought.
I have sent in the links for him to be with his parents.
|Carole Elizabeth Nurmi Cummings # 47178231||Hi there Ray|
I did locate Samuel's death certificate and have added him to Find A Grave. I also found the memorial for Lora and have sent the edits to the holder of that memorial. Have you had a chance to learn how to send suggestions and edits to a memorial from clicking on the memorial and click edit? There you can send links for your family via that feature that was created a couple of years ago.
I spent some time today working on this family and could not locate Lester. I did several searches for death records in California since he seemed to have live there and was in Los Angeles in 1940. Could not locate him in the California death index after 1940.
His daughter Bette Ann Cotton/Cotten married several times and ended up in Las Vegas dying under the name of Bette Ann Ball in 1993 - Born 24 October 1932 Lost Angeles - Death: 20 October 1993. Last residence was Las Vegas, Nevada.
Her last name in the Social Security Applications and Claim Index were as follows:
Feb 1943: Bette Ann Cotton
July 1950 Bette Ann Danielson
Oct 1958: Bette Malik
Nov 1961: Bette Ball
Apr 1977: Bette A Ball
Feb 1980: Bette A Crumbaker
These are the marriage dates I located for Bette Ann Cotton/Cotten
11 Nov 1959: Francis Alvin Kirkpatrick Jr
21 September 1960: Bernie Ball
Her father was Lester Lawrence Cotton
Her mother was Margret I Shafer
I think I have found all that I could find for you.
Lester might have died in Las Vegas. That may be a good place for you to look.

I saw your post on her memorial. Do you know who her parents were-- I have been trying to find them?
|Phil Pearce||Heywood H Pearce|
You left a comment about HH Pearce. I am trying to find out more about him. Can you please contact me?
Thanks so much.

You need to use the edit button for corrections and not flowers. Most folks never see the memorials again. In Sharon Methodist in Randolph Co., GA you most likely need to email Find A Grave. The creator does not seem to make changes.
I stumbled across you and saw your last name. I don't suppose you're related to ant Settles out of Tennessee are you?
|Desert Rat||Artimissie Cotten|
I'm looking for Artimissie Cotten, d after 1910, listed in census with son, Les Cotten. I wonder if this is the same Les Cotten found in 1920 census in Hall County, TX?
