Bio and Links
Bio Photo The creator of this account, my father Bruce Maddox Stewart, sadly passed away on 8 January 2014 at home in Surprise, Arizona. He now has his own memorial at #178956095.

Hello, I'm his eldest daughter, Joan Stewart Smith, who continues the family research that he so loved. I now maintain all the findagrave memorials that were in his care on my account at #48837098.

If you'd like a digital copy of the book he wrote, "STEWART: HEATHER LOST," an in-depth family history about our direct Stewart line from Scotland, please contact me. The book is out of print, but I am still happy to share it digitally.

Please don't hesitate to contact me at or #48837098. I would be very happy to hear from you.

Bruce Stewart originally wrote here:
"I was born about 1/2 mile from the Stewart-Parker Cemetery, aka South Hebron Cemetery. Most of my family are buried there. I will not be as I am donating my body to be used for whatever it may be needed for."

[Note from daughter Joan: We buried the remaining ashes of my father in South Hebron Cemetery, after he donated his body to science. He now has his own marker in this cemetery he so loved, down the road from his childhood farm.]

Bruce Stewart continues: "I have been researching my family for over 30 years. Traveling in a Motor Home to do so. I have been to Scotland and found the family farm location there. I hope to complete the Stewart Cemetery online in the next year or so."

A poem to lighten the Genealogists work day.

Heredity, A Genealogy Poem

I saw a duck the other day,
It had the feet of my Aunt Faye.
Then it walked, was heading South,
It waddled like my Uncle Ralph.

And when it turned, I must propose,
Its bill was formed like Aunt Jane's nose.
I thought, "Oh, no! It's just my luck,
Someday I'll look just like a duck."

I sobbed to Mom about my fears,
And she said, "Honey, dry your tears.
You look like me, so walk with pride,
Those folks are all from Daddy's side."

RE: Thomas Charles Memorial #84877582
HI Bruce. I'm sorry but I didn't understand your original question. Mike's Grandfather was from the second wife. You're correct the name on the tombstone was Ann and I think your correct that her real name was Mary Ann.

I meant David and Anna Charles.

RE: Thomas Charles Memorial #84877582
Thank you for the transfer. Thomas descended from David and Anna. I may have her last name somewhere but will have to search. I didn't know that Sarah had a twin. Do you have Robert Stewart Charles included in the number of children born. My father-in-law actually located his Charles relatives in Wales and he and my husband visited them several times. Robert S Charles is also buried at Greenwood Cemetery - section Q32 Lot 144. I have a little more on Robert's line if you would like it. Most of that line is now deceased. Pat

Thomas Charles Memorial #84877582
Bruce, Thomas Charles was my husbands Great Grandfather. Here is some additional information. Thomas and his first wife had 2 additional children: Robert Stewart Charles and Sarah Luella Charles. He married his second wife in 1881 (Emma Corelia Murphy) and they had 3 more children. I can give you additional information if you like.

Thomas was born in Mountainwater,Hayscastle Parrish, Pembrokeshire, Wales

I will add a memorial for Emma Murphy Charles 2 w/o Thomas

Would you consider transfering Thomas to me.
Thank you
Pat Charles

RE: Memorial # 79585482
Thank you for pointing this out. I will take care of this.

I am descended from the Stewarts of South Brimfield (now Wales) Massachusetts. My GGGgrandfather brought his family to western NY in the early 1800s, which is where I was born.
