Bio

My family has been in Collin Co., TX since William Snider and his family arrived there in 1845. I joined Daughters of the Republic of Texas under him.

I was born in McKinney, TX. I graduated from high school in Bonham after my dad transferred there from the V.A. Hospital in McKinney to the one in Bonham. He retired from the V.A. in Shreveport, LA in 1980. I graduated from East Texas State University in Commerce, TX with a degree in Home Economics. I married Tim Erwin from Honey Grove and we have 2 children. Scott, who lives in McKinney, has one daughter, Madison. Amy, who lives in Bentonville, AR., has two sons, Noah and Gray.

I have been working on my family genealogy for 20+ years. I also belong to Daughters of the American Revolution and United Daughters of the Confederacy (waiting for confirmation). My grandchildren are members of Children of the Republic of Texas.

Three of my grandparents and their families lived in Collin Co. from the 1840's to the 1890's. Many of them are buried at Fitzhugh Cemetery and Pecan Grove Cemetery.
