|Bio and Links|
I caught the genealogy bug in my teens when my twin aunts were researching my maternal grandfathers and grandmothers family history and cemeteries. My pictures are your pictures, please use them accordingly. I'm forever grateful for strangers taking pictures of my relatives :)|
Be prepared, I like to research every photo I add, and link relatives as much as I can. Please send me edits, I am using www.familysearch.org to look up census, marriages, date of births and deaths, relatives, etc.
I like to add everything I can transcribe off the gravestone; poems, daughter of, son of, wife of, age, born in what city, etc. Just the simplest wording can be missed and will give information to the person's past. It seems these little clues are usually the first that weather and time erase.
With the edit tab, older memorials can be updated. When adding a new memorial, please check first name and than last name of the person. I find that original maybe be misspelled, due to typing off a list. Woman may have more than one married name too. Last name spellings like Smyth and Smith. First name spellings like Lewis and Louis. Nicknames like Lizzie and Beth for Elizabeth. Quality vs. quantity is the best.
I'm not here for the numbers. I will be happy to transfer; I want family members to be able to update their own. I follow the guidelines of findagrave, except when it comes to family members requesting a memorial. If I'm not related, I will transfer, no questions asked, I don't collect memorials.
Unfortunately, my contributor page is not a billboard for others to voice their opinion. My email is not listed due to previous disgruntle contributors.
