I became active in researching my genealogy in 1997. In the process of tracing the ancestry of my four grandparents, I found many cemeteries that did not have a master list of those buried there or at least a current one. The first such cemetery that I surveyed was Grace Lutheran Cemetery near the little village of Ophiem in Henry County, Illinois in 1998.

My genealogy work continues and I've surveyed several other cemeteries since Ophiem most notably Ash Hollow Cemetery near Lewellen, NE. My current project is to obtain as many obituaries as I can for those interred at Ash Hollow.

Genealogy is an exciting and rewarding endeavor. I am continually amazed at the generosity of the genealogy community and Find A Grave is such a fine example of what this community can do. I'm grateful that I can offer something to repay all the kindness and help that I have received since I began my research by contributing to Find A Grave!
