Bio

I am a historian, genealogist and I write for our Foundation's three blogs on the subject of the West Indian People of Panama and all of its historical, cultural and political aspects.

My husband and I started these sites as a result of our earlier visits to the Heritage Cemeteries in Panama where most of the Silver Roll workers and their families are buried.

The Silver Roll was part of the thousands of workers and bosses who made up the segregated system known as the Gold and Silver System of the Panama Canal Zone. The black West Indians made up the majority of the Silver Roll and hence have left an important and indelible cultural stamp on Panamanian culture and history. You can read more about it in our blogs:

The Silver People Heritage
The Silver People Chronicle
Rapsodia Antillana (in Spanish)
