|I've decided to add which cemetery/ies I will be going to in the near future so that if there is anyone out there that needs something from that area you can leave me a message. When you do please leave as much info about the person you are looking for. such as full names, variations of the name, dates, husband/wife/parents names so if they are in an unmarked grave near the relations I will be able to narrow the areas, lol, and also will be able to take those pictures also. |
Please direct any emails to
If anyone has any information on who to contact about the Riverside Cemetery in Acadia Parish, Louisiana please let me know. Thanks!

A note in 'Gordons of the Deep South'. Actually it probably be unsure of burial location. Not much difference If you have more info please share or change. Thanks.
Thanks Brandy. I submitted the link to Elizabeth's husband and their marriage date.
What branch from Thomas and Elizabeth does your husband descend? There seems to be a new stream of DeMoss researchers in the last year with the recent renovating of the previously lost DeMoss cemetery. I tried back in the early 1990s to locate the cemetery without luck. It's very exciting to finally see family taking a renewed interest in our ancestry.

Sorry. Not sure what happened to my info on 1st message.
You posted a picture of Rosemond Marcantel, Sr. on his sons memorial # 40010307.
I have asked Jennifer to link Jr to his father.
I confirmed this with Murphy Miller, publisher of Jacob Miller Louisiana Family.
His reply: Śr. served in Civil War and pic is of Sr.
Please delete pic so as not to confuse other genealogy seekers.
Thanks so much

Thanks for taking the time to look for her marker. I really appreciate it. I know how quickly even marked graves can "disappear".

I saw those when I found him, I did check them but they are a different Long family. The two I really need to find are Jessie Franklin Long 1881-1943 and Gracie P. (Lawrence) Long 1888-1936. Everything I can find leads to being buried in Many, La. (obits and DC's) but can not find which cemetery.
