Bio

Hi! My name is Paige Fontaine, and I got started tracing my family history in mid-2006 after going through some of my great-grandmother's old photographs. After many late nights with one eyeball on the computer and lots of trips to cemeteries, libraries and courthouses, I was able to trace one family line back to Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred in Texas, and then back to Indiana and the War of 1812, and finally back to the American Revolution. I would say that genealogy has become a compulsion, and perhaps even an obsession with me. I am primarily researching the Sparks, Hadden, Lee, Elliott, Welborn, Stewart, Ulmer and associated families in Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia/West Virginia, and New Jersey. I'd love to meet anyone researching any of these families, and I'm happy to take cemetery photos in Brazoria, Matagorda, Wharton, Colorado, Harris, and Montgomery counties. I am also desperately searching for some Hadden graves in Colorado County, Texas near Alleyton that were surveyed in 1930 and then lost.
