I have been involved in Family History for over 40 years. At first I would travel to the Genealogy Library in Salt Lake City from CA whenever I could, and make copies of the patron files. Then I realized, after a very short time, that I needed to start actually researching and finding primary records. I have enjoyed the process and have learned, and am still learning, how to do it. I have "collected" pictures of grave stones of some of my ancestors for many years, and am glad to have Find A Grave to post memorials on.
