My first life recollections are of a cemetery. My father was caretaker of the Onarga Township Cemetery in Onarga, Iroquois County, IL, from the time I was 2 years old until I was 7. The job included a home and outbuildings on the edge of the cemetery, so the cemetery was my backyard. My parents are now both buried there.
