Bio and Links
Bio Photo When I was 12 years old, my great aunt gave me a family group sheet with photos & I was hooked. That was 50 years ago & I've been working on my personal family genealogy since then.

About thirty years ago, I started updating the descendants of Azariah Crandall Jr. He died in 1825, in Clark county Indiana. He had 17 children, 11 of which were sons. In just a few years, all of Southern Indiana was littered with Crandalls. It was very difficult keeping the families straight. One of these days I hope to publish my research or at least give the information to local libraries.

The memorials, that aren't my personal relatives, come from newspapers, funeral homes, death certificates, cemetery census records & military records.I am also working on imputing a cemetery in Northern Arizona.

Otherwise, I live with all my dogs & cats in the Phoenix area. I breed Shih Tzus & do kitten rescue. Sometimes I get very busy bottle feeding or with a sick little one. Please have patience with me.

If you have a correction, addition or family links you'd like me to make, please let me know. Click on the edit tab of the memorial & make your suggestion, I'd also appreciate it, if when you post a photo on one of my memorials, that you let me know about it.

I recently had a negative encounter with a person on this site. I am no longer willing to transfer memorials I have created or receive emails. I'm really sorry about this.

I will transfer within the guidelines set out by Find A Grave though:

Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Explain your relationship in the request! Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer.

Cornelius Crandall
My name is Linda Stevens. My GGG grandfather was WILLIAM STEVENS, f/o GRACY STEVENS CRANDALL. GRACY was the mother of CORNELIUS.

I've been tracing this line for years. I'm trying to establish WILLIAM'S father. It is said that his father was JAMES STEVENS, but I'm not sure and was wondering if you might have come across my line in your research.

Id appreciate any help you care to share and I will be happy to share what I have.

Please remove obit. added as a photo.
While I appreciate your sharing the obit. that you added as a photo to my memorial for Jess Self #51921604 I would hope you won't mind removing it. I have typed it up in the bio. area and I would really like to save the photo area for family photos & photos of the grave site. Again thanks for supplying the obit. and all the great work you do on Find A Grave.

Re: Dora Paige Crandall
Hi name is Nicole Long-Edwards and I recently came across a Find A Grave listing that caught my interest. I noticed that the father of Dora Paige-Crandall is Bryant Paige (Page) which he happens to be my Great great Grandmother's father so Dora may be my Aunt. Bryant Page is listed on the census being married to my Great great great Grandmother Alevany sometimes spelled Alavana but then he's listed as single and living in the home with his son Bill. I do know that Alevany remarried and her last name was Cox so I am assuming that they were divorced at some point. I am interested in knowing more about the Page family..they are my Grandmother's father's family whom she knew nothing about. What nationality were they as my Grandmother had an unusual almost oriental appearance. My Grandmother was Gertie Mae Taylor-Barnhill whose father was Linwood (Lenard) Taylor his mom was Amanda Page-Taylor and her Dad wasbBryant Page..any information that you could assist me with would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

From the grave site of Doris Sharp
Hi Linda. Can I ask how did you know Doris, Harry, Bobby, Liz and Geneva...I would love to know. Liz was my best friend. Her family was magnificent. My heart goes to Geneva the surviving family.

John William "Will" Qualls
The photo you inserted in the memorial for John William "Will" Qualls is not the correct person. This is a photo of Will's brother, Earl Cecil Qualls. I have the correct photo of my grandfather, Will, and would like to insert it. Please delete the photo you inserted so I may insert the correct photo. Find A Grave would not allow me to delete the photo because I didn't insert it, and I can't add a photo because there are no more spaces available to add photos until one of the photos is deleted. Appreciate your indulgence.

Memorial # 62739080 Dennis Wayne Evans
Please remove the Evans headstone photo from Dennis's memorial page. Dennis was Stillborn and your photo is for his parents - Etta and Virgil W. We are trying to get the original contributor to fix this error and add more information so deleting your photo from Dennis would be a big help.

Hi Linda,

I was wondering whether you could link Phyllis Maxine Davis 126634384 with her parents (who were my grandparents)? They are Lawrence Davis 178722411 and Carrie Davis 178722437.

Thank you for your consideration!

Lori Brandt
i have an antique quilt from the Poe, Crandall, Trowbridge, Moore, and Briscoe families
Hi Linda,
Believe it or not, I have a quilt that was made of 30 squares, each of which had a hand-embroidered full name of the 30 people who made the quilt.
I was curious as to the age of the quilt and location and with some digging realized the group of quilt-makers was from Indiana.
Names include Juanita Poe, Bertha Poe, Nolan Poe, Paulie Poe, Russell Poe, Olive Trowbridge, Arlie Trowbridge, H.D. Trowbridge, Crandall (Thelma, Ruth E. Howward, Louise and Letrice), Pendleton (Ellen, Phyllis, Emmett), Moore (Frank, Howard, Florence, and Curtis), Briscoe (Jimmie, Kathleen), and a few others.
I thought it would be of interest to you!
Feel free to contact me: (don't forget middle initial K or I won't receive your email).
