Bio and Links
Bio Photo I began using this website as research tool for a photo essay on historic cemeteries in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I have found, in the process, that being a photo volunteer is quite fulfilling.

I love being helpful for those who are seeking photos of their ancestors/relatives headstones. It's quite satisfying knowing that you have done something to give someone else a sense of peace, a smile, closure. In addtion I continue to document the interment aspects of local history.

Edmond & John Franklin-Old Huntington Cemetery

Please remove your photo requests. I rechecked the cemetery and still did not find headstones for Edmond & John Franklin.

Edmond & John Franklin-Old Huntington Cemetery
Hi Leslie,

I walked the cemetery twice and could not find any Franklin headstones. This cemetery has many broken, illegible or toppled headstones.

Please consider removing your photo requests.

Thank you so much for adding the obituary. If you don't mind transferring the memorial I would love to add it to the family.

Happy holidays to you and your family,

Well I looked at that 1910 census, and I don't see any blood relationship between Franklin and Sylvester, but they were working the same farm togeather, that's all, sorry I can't tell you anymore

It is not a gated road and as far as I know the road is not on private land. I visited the cemetery several years ago when I was in South Dakota for the Ardmore reunion.

If you are coming on 71 from Hot Springs there is a road on the left hand side of 71. You are going to see the cemetery before you see the road because the road is past the cemetery. Just before you see the cemetery is a road on the right hand side and then the next road is the one to the cemetery on the left. If you come to what used to be the government experimental farm on the right or into Ardmore then you have gone too far. I hope this helps you find it. If you cannot find it, let me know and my dad can give me better directions.

Okay. We know who Uncle Jake is now. I'd like a picture... Still not sure about Viola but she must have been Edith's sister. Would like one of hers too. THANKS!
