Bio

I'm retired after nearly 38 years with the federal government (30 with the Government Accountability Office and nearly 8 with the Justice Department) and live in historic Gettysburg. I'm particularly interested in the following families: McGeary (or McGarry long ago) from Atlantic County, NJ, and Schuylkill County, PA; Abbott or Abbit or Abit (south Jersey and earlier in Bucks County,PA, and Long Island, NY); Sweeney (Schuylkill County, PA); Costigan (Philadelphia and south Jersey); and Brock (Calhoun County, AL and Hall County, GA); and Jenkins (Greenville County, SC, and Calhoun County, AL). I'm also interested in the Civil War and in honoring the veterans of all the wars. I've visited Civil War sites in PA, VA, MD, WV, SC, and NC. I've also been to the American Cemetery in Normandy, France. I was privileged to spend some time alone next to President Lincoln's tomb in Springfield, IL. I'm a past commander of the local Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, a past chapter president of the Sons of the American Revolution chapter, and a council member of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States, Pennsylvania Commandery.
