The Horry County Board of Architectural Review and Historic Preservation.

The purpose of HCBAR is to document and protect the heritage of Horry County by recognizing significant historical sites and creating Historic Preservation Districts.

In Fall of 2007 the HCBAR began documenting Historic Cemeteries within the county. Adam Emrick and Christopher Klement leading the program. To date, over 200 cemeteries have been surveyed, or resurveyed.

The data gathered is in the process of being added into Findagrave.com by Tawnya Gray & Susan Perhala, independent volunteers.

We are entering the complete cemetery as we see it. I am also looking at the documentation by the Horry County Historical Society and the Waccamaw Records Cemetery Records.

I am open to any correction or additions. Contact me at [email protected]

Please note that we are entering in things as fast as we can; time permitted. We have going to 99% of the cemeteries East of HWY 905.

If you wish to assist with the Horry County Cemetery Project, contact Susan Perhala

You may use any information or photos suppied by our group for non-profit projects. For profit project please ask for additional permission and we will get back to you A.S.A.P.
