During the past four years, he and his father-in-law have restored over 1000 grave markers. states. In 2006, John received the Studs Turkel Humanities Service Award for preserving abandoned cemeteries and the Illinois Preservation and Conservation Association recognized him for his work in restoring Piatt County cemeteries. John is available for lectures, workshops, or consultation.
