My ancestry includes Germans from Russia, Germans and English Quakers. I have always been drawn to cemeteries, even at a young age. I always particularly liked visiting small rural cemeteries.
I was so pleased to find photos of several grandparents' graves on findagrave.com that I thought I must do the same for someone else!

I will gladly transfer memorials to any relative (even if it is outside FAG guidelines) unless I am also related. I have also transferred to close family friends if I do not have any relationship to the deceased. I do not take photos to increase my numbers - it is simply something I enjoy doing as a tribute and to help others.

I try to take extra care with each photo I take. If possible I will trim overgrowth of vegetation, remove soil that has moved over the stone and/or use water and a soft brush to clean a stone that is not easily readable. In those cases, I may also try to enhance the photo to assist. That being said, sometimes if I am traveling I may not have my tools with me when I grab a photo.
