I'm curious where you located the photo of Nannie Garten Epple. She was the sister of my great-grandmother, Rebecca Ann Garten Hewitt. I'm always interested in connecting with people who may have old family photos.
Thank you for posting the photo!

Thank you for finding my error when typing Alemga. I went back to the obituary and indeed the correct spelling is Almega as you suggested. Sorry for the confusion.

I am not related or aware of any family called Shouse. Sorry I couldn't help you.

Don't you remember that this is the same one as buried in the Fairview cemetery in Jasper county, MO.? You put the same obit in his, John T. Shouse, bio when I sent it to you, and told you at that time that this one is a dupe! I sent it in for deletion whenever Find A Grave does it.

I found her in Louisville in 1920 with William Johnson. Whether he was a husband or step-son, I can't tell. She still had a Lewis and a Sticken with her. You may be better off not trying to document her for your history. Just put her in your files so you know it's her if you find more info.

Sorry, I left out a marriage. As Annie Stickan she married Kenneth Sloat.

Anna Spurgeon married Charles Lewis. Then, as Annie Lewis she married Henry L. Sticken. She had a Lewis son and a Sticken stepdaughter with her in the 1910 census. Maybe after that she married a Shouse.
