Time moves quickly, while I've been a member for over 8 years to this site, I have been working on my family genealogy in spurts for quite some time. I appreciate all of the help people from this site have given me!|
Looks like I'm following descendents (YOUNG & SHAW) linked to the Revolutionary War & Mayflower. Exciting!
Today, while entering Woodside interments, the counter entered/turned to 14,000 memorials in the cemetery.
Now that I am doing photo requests, I have developed a deeper respect for those who have been doing it for a long time. It's a lot of work but - quite rewarding at the same time. By following the family name in research and headstone photos, one feels a kinship to that family.
I do ask one favor of anyone who would like to use photos from my memorials. Please ask permission before you "borrow" my images to use in your own tree (it helps me find connections for my own research) and, at the very least, cite my name as the researcher and owner of the image @ Find-a-Grave. Do that as a courtesy to me, since I did do the leg work & am sharing.
Feel free to leave flowers or sponsor any of the memorials. All ladies love flowers. I try to leave flowers @ memorials for young children and veterans.
Best of luck to us all!

|S. Lawrence||George Shaw|
I am researching our Shaw line. On the page for George Shaw, 98477711, the death is listed as 19 Mar 1888. I am looking for documentation for this date. I see this noted on many ancestry trees, although I am not finding the supporting documents. Can you help me locate more information on George's death?
Thank you for any assistance you can give.

Thank you, Beverly, for transferring my great aunt and uncle over to me. It really means a lot.
I see Alvin as your friend. We are distant cousins.

My husband, Jack Williamson, Jr. wants to thank your for adding his parents and his young infant son to Find-a Grave.
|Jennifer Myers||Generva A. "Anna" Brown Nixon|
Hi Beverly. I've sent you a few edits for Generva. I was curious if you were related. She was my great grandfather's (Charles A. Brown's) sister. It took me quite a while to find her as the census listed her as Minerva one year and Jenerva another. The name "Anna" is actually Lewis Cass Nixon's second wife after Generva passed. Thanks for your time and consideration of my edits. If you'd like to share info on the Brown's, I'd love to hear from you! Thanks again!

i have use of Ancestry.com and i type in a name that i have listed to see if i can find anything else about them....and mosttimes news papers will pop up.....if they do i pull them up and got thru them page by page. Sometimes they might be all on one page.....and sometimes they are all on different pages....you just have to search.

Yes, her maiden name was Stallard (though I am not sure of the spelling). She had a sister named Bessie, who was mentally disabled, whom she cared for all her life. She was married to my great grandfather, Pleas. I live about 3 hours away from her grave, though I have been unable to attend it for some time. She was an amazing lady, with a wicked sense of humor, a love of baseball, and Elvis. I think of her every day.
