Bio

I am an avid genealogy/history buff who was born and raised in Northwest Iowa, but now live in Northern California. I grew up in a small town where we always took shortcuts through the cemetery on the way home from school. The memorials always intrugued me, especially the older ones.

As I continue working on ALL my family histories I have found findagrave to be very helpful in locating family members. It is especially helpful to me when the obituaries are posted and I am making it my personal goal to help provide obituaries for the cemeteries I am most connected with in Iowa. If I send you an obituary transcript, please feel free to share it.

Findagrave provides a very valuable service to history and genealogy researchers. 20 years ago I walked the Dedham Cemetery in Iowa with my mom; this year I went back and discovered that many of the stones I photographed then have disappeared or are illegible. Such a shame, but time marches on. To have this information recorded on findagrave insures that those who came before us live on.

I welcome corrections/additions to memorials I have posted and will be happy to transfer those to whom I am not related to those who are direct descendents.
