Hilda was first married to my uncle Alfred Penhallegon. She had a 2nd child, Joan Jean, who died as a toddler. Joan is buried next to her father Alfred in the Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City. After Hilda remarried, she had a daughter Jacqueline who is still alive.

Are you connected to the Schriner family?

Unfortunately I am not related and therefore not able to give you much information - just a volunteer who happened to record headstone information from that cemetery to Find A Grave website. I did link John and his wife, Catherine. Also, I did go into and have listed their children from the 1900 federal census. You will see when you go into his memorial that both he and his wife were from Ireland; and some of their children were either born in NY or NJ. Still he could have been single during the Civil War and was in Vermont but couldn't find anything that connected your John to this John. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. Marie

I am SO sorry about the delay in replying to your message. I really do appreciate you taking the time to check on the information I requested about my great-great-grandmother and great-great-uncle's headstones. I'm disappointed that there are no grave markers, but now at least I know.
Thank you for checking on that for me.

Thanks for the photog of their Gravestone! And, thanks for volunteering at Find-Grave; it's such a great resource when you're an out-of-towner! KBo
