PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO POST COMPLETE DATES IF THEY ARE NOT GIVEN ON THE GRAVESTONE. |
I am, however, happy to post maiden names.
Please, unless you are the legal copyright holder, do not post or ask me to post copyrighted photos (taken from obituaries or other sites) on memorials I've created. Being the legal owner of copyright means that (1) you yourself took the photo;(2) you were given explicit permission in writing from the person who took the photo; or (3) you bought rights to the photo and have the paperwork proving your claim. FindAGrave policy (see their FAQ) prohibits such postings as violations of International Copyright Law. The only exceptions are for excerpts of old obits for which the copyright has expired.
Regarding birth and death dates, I am from now on posting only dates that are on the gravestone, assuming that is what the deceased or deceased's family intended, so PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO POST COMPLETE DATES IF THEY ARE NOT GIVEN ON THE GRAVESTONE. As FindAGrave FAQ states, this is not a genealogy site but a site where gravestones are recorded. Since info regarding a specific birthplace is often used today in security questions, I will no longer post exact birthplaces. Data on FindaGrave has in the past been used for purposes of identity theft is a real problem & I don't want to cause anyone the grief of having to sort out that problem.

Wow fascinating, fascinating. I never heard that term before. I am seeing the lady tomorrow that asked for help. It's a daughter of Mike's (1905-1994) that asked for my help. I will share the information you have generously provided. I can't get over just how many times that area changed hands. The lady I'm helping said she remembered her Grandmother talking about living along a river and the town name you had supports that. I can't wait to see her now this is going to be great. Thank you so much for your help. I may get back to you with questions and of course if I can help you please let me know.

Hello, I'm looking for information to help with my family tree. Do you happen to know the maiden name for Mary Rosko? The ID # on the page is 76543812. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Andrew Elchin Memorial# 95928299
Birth: Feb. 19, 1881
Death: Nov. 8, 1955
Summerhill, Cambria County
Born in what is now Legnava, Slovakia (formerly Lagno, Hungary)
I was wondering if I could ask for your help. I am trying to do some quick research on the Andrew Elchin above. I'm looking for him immigration/naturalization records. I'm doing a favor for his 84 yr grand-daughter. She says she never knew if they were Russian or Slovak or... In research I see they have self identified as many things over the years. While I am still looking for the immigration papers I wondered if you still remembered the source for your information above where you give the birth city and it changing county. Thank you for your help and I of course am eager to help you sometime as well.

Perhaps someone has given you an incorrect link for William Ondrik. Alexander Ondrik and Hazel Buchleitner Ondrik were his parents. Alexander's memorial number is 76531446; Hazel's is 76283709. Could you please make a correction? Thank you! Here is the info from his US Social Security Applications & Claims Index: William George Ondrik
[William G Ondrik]
Birth Date: 13 Feb 1934
Birth Place: Rochester Be, Pennsylvania
Death Date: 20 May 2007
Father: Alex Ondrik
Mother: Hazel Buchlinter

used rootsweb site that contained only a listing of name/dates to each cemetery in Allegheny County. I am in no way familiar with the cemeteries locations. I would gladly transfer each memorial but I would need a listing of some type with name/memorial# and which cemetery to transfer to.

Thanks for the wonder photo of Martha Small. You do wonderful work.
...for the recent edits. I really appreciate the help you have given me in working out the many translations, offering the additional research information and the various spellings of the ethnic surnames found in the memorials & burials located thru out Jefferson County !! Your help is simply invaluable to all the many researchers searching for their family & ancestors. :)
