Amateur photographer and geologist; mountain bike rider. Serious genealogist. Author of Arcadia Publishing's Images of America, Mount St Helens. I make frequent trips to the Oregon State Archives in Salem and am able to look up/copy documents.|
Feel free to use, for non-commercial use only, any photo I have on FAG - however, please give me credit for it. If anyone is able to make use of a photo I've taken I'd like to hear from you. It is nice to know that the photos, and listings, have been of use to someone!
Please note that many, but not all, of my edits are being done under the name: Invenio Sepulchrum.
I consider myself 'advanced' when it comes to researching Swedish ancestors. Can I help you?

Please excuse all the edits: I had promised you information but wasn't able to get on the project right then. I have pretty thoroughly researched these people via oral history, newspapers, and of course the online data of ancestry & newspaper archive. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me for sources.

David, I sent you an edit earlier that needs a
correction: coroner's record said he drowned while bathing (not casting!). Very hard to decipher the handwriting.

You are welcome, glad I could help. The story of Anna's death was in the Oregonian, not sure if you would be interested?

I have just viewed information from an Oregon death record for a George Arnold, who died at Portland, Oregon on Feb. 24, 1923 (cert. #525). There is a possibility that this is your memorial for George D Arnold (Find A Grave #42084597). I hate to impose on you, but if you visit the archives soon, could you look at the certificate? He had no known surviving children or relatives in Portland except for his (second) wife, Anne, who could be the reporting individual on the certificate. If possible, I would like to establish whether or not he is buried with his first wife, Waity. Thank You!

Happy I could be of service.

I've put through an edit request to link him to his wife, Birdie Cowles Schafer, #154558670.
Would you please place the year 1955 in the marriage year field, so he will appear in the correct sequence among Birdie's three marriages?

Thanks so much for Carrie's headstone photo. The family will appreciate having it.

Thank you so much, David. It looks like you had to dig out her headstone and clean the mud off. Good job! I appreciate your efforts more than you can know.
