Hello! Welcome to my Find A Grave page. I have met many wonderful people in this endeavor and made some dear friends as well. |
What a site ! You can even memorialize your pets ! If you have corrections to suggest or transfer requests, please use the S.A.C. for efficiency's sake. However, you may also leave a mssg or email me.
There are some senior members here whom I've grown to love dearly. When first I joined, they were very patient and very, very generous with their help and time. I will tell you here, I'm a man of nearly sixty years. But I have struggled my entire life with ADHD, and with that comes the battle with impatience (on my part). In fact, one of these wonderful senior members has always been very assertive when it was needed. Even to the point of firmly (but gently and with all civility) correcting me when she saw fit. I won't say her name here, but she knows who she is. Her help has been invaluable to me and outside of the founders of Find a Grave, in my opinion, she knows more about this than anyone I've met on here. I don't know of anyone who knows more about Park Cemetery, in Carthage, than she. (By the way, by "Senior Members" I don't mean as in years old, but years in this sacred work we've all joined ourselves together to do ! )
Also, (just a suggestion, honest), when you're browsing through some member who lives far, far away, look through some of their memorials and leave a note, or some flowers. It's a real encouragement to them. I have some faithful members who leave many notes and artwork on my pet memorials that are beautiful beyond words. They always warm my heart.
I've been photographing cemeteries in the Jasper/Newton Co area for well over 35 yrs now. I am especially fond of Fasken Cemetery, N/E of Carthage on 96. North on CRR 110 to Locust. Appx 1 1/2 miles East. Cemetery is on the South side of the lane. It is where I shall be buried someday.
I am researching Abbott, Brock, Dodson, Everitt/Everett, Franklin, Hudson, Hornback and Moore, to name a few. Hope to see some of you out in the field.
Oh, if you happen to be working a cemetery in or around the Carterville/Oronogo area, and you see a young lady who looks kind of like 'Thelma' from "Scooby-Doo". And who is meticulously photographing each grave. Well, consider yourself been blessed to meet Lauren! She's my favorite Find A Grave Shutterbug. Say hello to her. Great smile, she has. And she takes great pictures, too!
UPDATE: My understanding is now she's in the K.C. area.
Would you please visit my pet cemetery? It means so very much when you do. Don't have the words. Leave a mssg if you stop by. Take Care.

Thank you so much for taking the time and effort in writing a message on my mother's memorial page...it really does mean a lot to us all. What a kind gesture!

Hi, Mark -
After reading over an article about a Webb City resident who passed away in June 1920, I happened upon an "Everitt/Everett" toddler who perished by falling down a zinc mine shaft after being overcome by noxious fumes. I don't know if he has a marker, but according to the death certificate and his obit, he is buried in the Carterville cemetery. I've uploaded his memorial. He is not kin to me, but since you are researching this family, I wanted to ask you if you would like me to transfer the stewardship of his memorial to you? He was a son of Bert and Josie Everitt/Everett.

|Chris Fenimore||David Patrick Mckinney|
Just to let you know David's cremains were placed in Rosie's coffin by his sister Lori. I recently paid for his 2nd right internet at park cemetery. So now we are working on getting him a memorial stone. I'm shooting for the end of March or first of April. I'm in touch with his son Mike he said he could help out some anything you could pitch in would be appreciated. We're getting the marker through park cemetery it's going to be $450.00 and they will engrave and set it for no extra charge.
|Schatzie Moore||Same Names|
Just want to say we have alot of same name connections - WOW!!
|Annette Abbott||Anxious to hear from you...|
I think I figured out how we are related I believe your mother and my dad were first cousins and you and I are second cousins. I don't know a lot about my dad's family he never really mentioned it and I have found out what I know by research I have been researching for nearly eighteen years. If there's anything you want to know I will be glad to tell you if I know the information. Unfortunately some of it was not written anywhere so I don't know everything but I'll tell you what I know.
Thanks a lot
|Barbara Ward||William H. Brock headstone|
William H. Brock headstone in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Jasper, MO. died 1956.
Are you related to this William in any way? William would have been my husband's great uncle on his mother's side.
|Juanita Thompson Cox||Willard Garnett Parks|
Thanks so much for your site on Willard Garnett Parks. He was a first cousin to my husband, James Ernest Cox, Jr. I did not have his death date, his obit included his family members. We knew him as "Garnett". If no one is maintaining his memorial I would be glad to do so. I am Find A Grave member. Thank you for your work. Juanita Thompson Cox
|Annette Abbott||I think we are related...|
Hello! John Stafford Abbott Sr. was my great grandfather. His son James H. Abbott Sr. was my grandfather, and James's son James Jr.(aka Jim) was my father. I never met any of my grandfather's siblings except for Walter. I am especially interested in researching John Sr.'s mother's (Susie E. Barber)family and finding out who her mother was.If you have any info let me know and I will share what I know. Thanks, Annette Abbott
|NJBrewer||RE: Dorothy I. Hulstine|
Nice to hear from you again Mark. No, I don't have a photo of the grave you mentioned at Oak Hill Cemetery. As soon as we get a sunny day with the weather being half way decent, I can drop over by there and take a picture for you. Just give me an idea where she is in the cemetery, North end? Middle section or South end. I'll find it.
I always enjoy that you add personal photos on your Find a Grave pages. I wish everyone would.
