Bio

Became very interested in Find A Grave after the death of my father. He never forgot anything. He always had a wealth of knowledge of family and friends. Many of his family members were so amazed how he could go down the line of date of birth order of all his brothers and sisters and their children from total recall.

After loosing him, I felt a need to begin researching as much as possible using the information that I had gained from years of his very vivid recollections. From talking about the history of my relatives, to taking me and showing burial locations.
That is where my journey began. Digging into family history and trying to sort out from what I knew on my Mother and Father's side of the family.

Born in South Georgia myself, many of my ancestors were from the Carolina's, Georgia, and Florida. Following all spellings of Dial, Dials, Dyal,Dyals, Dyalls, etc. within my Dad's immediate family of his father and brothers, it was spelled 3 different ways. None the less, still family. Following also information on Johnson, Deen/Dean, Taylor, Robinson/ Roberson, Varnadore, and Anthony.

I enjoy researching not only my own family but others as well. Sometimes I touch on some memorials doing research that doesn't have much info and I begin to look further. I feel the need to preserve as much family history for generations to come, not just for my family but others as well. That's why I placed permanent grave markers and slab for some family members. My Dad had always wanted a marker put to his Uncle George's grave at Mt. Plesant. Over the years a marker that his father Jim Dials, a brother to George, had carved out of "Fat Lighter Wood" had deteriorated over time. Fortunately with the knowledge of the burial site I followed through with my Dad's wishes and placed a permanent marker for my Great Uncle George. As well my cousin Claude Jowers at Blackshear Cem. which only had the remnants of the metal funeral home marker which had lost all lettering of the name and dates. Had I not have known these locations, this wouldn't have been preserved. And also replaced the broken slab per my Mother's request, of my Great Grandmother Mary Ann Varnadore at Rehobeth Cem…what a sad condition it had become. Let us not forget those that have gone on before us. We are the caretakers in so many ways.

I hope in some small way that I have been able to help and provide to the forth coming generations info that is needed, as I have had help from several members of Find A Grave personally myself. I thank all the FAG members for the many miles they have walked through cemeteries documenting and taking photo's.

My thanks and God's blessings to each of you that read this.
Respectfully,
