I've learned that if I can find a grave I might be able to find the relative(s). When I add a new memorial, I also add connecting family, if I have that data. I have been at this for a long time- then decided I better get to it before someone had to enter my name.

I am very into family, not any wonder, I'm sure when considering I'm the 1st of 9 siblings, and into the 4th generation that calls me Aunt, for that reason I do attempt to connect the Parents and Children and other relatives as they appear on the scene.

On copying photos found on findagrave to ancestry.com or elsewhere
Document the source of the photo
In the photo description, say that the photo is from findagrave.com and add the memorial number
This helps others researching individuals and families

On "Suggested edits", if it results in a change of name, date of birth, or death, please provide a source I can research. I do, occasionally, make a typo, so a correction that changes the age from 130 years to 80, is, of course, accepted. Headstones do have incorrect data, as do records on birth, marriage, and/or death.
*** Please remember that headstone information may not be correct.

On requesting the transfer of a memorial created or managed by me. I will not transfer family members or close friends unless it is mandatory.
Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. You can add photos and suggest corrections without managing a memorial. With millions of members, there will be many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all members to manage their entire tree.
Memorials are transferred for direct relatives within four generations. This includes your spouse, siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Always explain your relationship in the request, being a relative does not provide sufficient information! Keep in mind that the memorial may also be related to me, and or mine, and I may not make the transfer, depending on that relationship. A cousin to you may be a Grandparent to another.

NOTE**

Also, if it is a Pioneer family that I have, or am in the process of, researching, I may not make the transfer, depending on the relationship.

****If you volunteer on this website and decide you no longer want to maintain the records please transfer your records to someone who has an active account and is willing to take over the records. I am one of many willing to take over records. This really will help reduce duplicates.
