Born in Keyser, Mineral Co., WV. Raised in Fairfax City, VA. Moved to Xenia, Ohio in 1967 due to marriage. I got involved in genealogy, about 10 yrs ago, after I retired. It started as a hunt for my mother for her roots. It's just been within the last 2 yrs that I realized I had ancestors who settled in Ross County (Mallows), Greene County (Mallows & Harshman), Montgomery (Harshman). Also, Bush & Mitchells in Fayette Co. Imagine my surprise when I settled here. I never cared for history until I got older and now I'm totally enthralled. My roots don't run as deep here in Ohio as in WV, but it's still a nice connection.
Some of the names in my roots are Mallow, Bush, Harshman(Hershman, Hirschman), Hedrick, Mitchell, Kesner, Fisher, Yankey, Tschudi (Judy), Spitzer, Borror, Staggs, Bane, and Cook, just to name a few.
