Bio

My interest in genealogy started in 1999. Relatively speaking, it was a mild interest until the day I decided to make the 2 hour drive to Marion County to get information from the headstone of my great grandparents buried in Phillips Cemetery. That was the day I was hooked. I was amazed at how many Hankses were buried in this little rural cemetery just a few miles from my grandparents farm house. Eventually I found that among those were also my gg grandparents and ggg grandparents on my Hanks family along with numerous others on my other lines (Combs, Wilkinson, Roberts, Greene, Crutchfield, etc....). My dad's paternal side is deeply rooted in this area of northeast Marion County.
Across the county line in Clay County is Oskaloosa Cemetery. Here my dad's maternal roots run deep. Among the families in this area are Krutsinger, Owens, Segeser, Russell and others.
My mother's lines are a bit more scattered. Those lines include Gray, Boughers, Anderson and Durkee.
As weather permits, my wife and I are trying to fulfill photo requests locally and also on any planned visits we make to cemeteries on research trips.
If there is anything I have posted that needs corrected or if you would like transferred just click on the edit tab and send me a note. If you think we are related, send me an e-mail, I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
