I became interested in genealogy in the Fall of 2009 when I decided to join Ancestry.com, in an effort to trace my Cherokee roots on my father's mother's branch of the family tree. The main branches of my tree are all deeply rooted in Arkansas, with migrations from Georgia and the Carolinas. My ancestral surnames are Griggs, Bearden, Southern, Beasley, Black, Pinkerton, Reid, Bissell, LaGrone, and 81 others (so far). Genealogical research, I have found, is a neverending process, for after all, "we are all cousins."
