earliest known ancestor: James Love born in about 1775 in Sleat, Isle of Skye, Scotland; his son, Samuel Love born 1797 in Sleat, Isle of Skye, Scotland emigrated to Ireland 1818; 9 of his 10 children emigrated to the US, primarily New York, South Carolina, Iowa and California.
