I am a native of Furnas County Nebraska, having been raised in and around Hendley. I spent about 40 years in San Diego, CA completing careers in the US Navy and as a teacher. My wife and I retired in 2007 and came home. We live on a farmstead south of Oxford and attend church in Hollinger. We thoroughly enjoy our retirement.
I plan to add memorials as I get a chance to get to the cemeteries or as I see obits. I will take pictures as I can but won't go too far from home until the price of gas comes down.
I am especially interested in the families contained in my virtual cemeteries back as far as I can go. The father of John and George Nitzel(they immigrated from Germany in the 1880's), descendants and forefathers of Samuel H Powell (settled in Lyle, KS area in 1800's) are of great interest. Other family names for my wife and me are; Meents, Williams, Mosher, Mapes, Leichliter, Perkins and Coffman. Recently, I identified my biological father through a DNA test and now am also interested in Davies, Sebelist and associated families from Lancaster, PA.
