I've been interested in my family history since I was 12 and learned of my great, great, grandmother, Temple Burton, a slave in Mississippi and my great, great-grandfather, Col. W. R. Stuart, her master. A high point in my research was when a findagrave.com volunteer found Temple's tombstone - connecting me with a part of my history that I didn't know existed and thought was lost. I can't wait to visit Temple's grave in person and I thank Ann Nash and the other volunteers for reuniting people with their families. I hope I can do the same for someone else.
