I have been researching my BLANTON ancestors for more than 7 years. We originated in England, then to Virginia, then to NC, SC, GA, AL, TN and all points west. Am interested in contacting ANYONE who has ANY connection to ANY Blanton.|
I'm the daughter of Wade Leo Blanton and Vera D. Harrington, born in San Diego where my sister and I lived until our late 20's. I've became interested in genealogy when I was able to locate one of our half sisters. After being reunited with her and sharing our love, my quest was to find our other sister. It's been a wonderful story finding both sisters and my ex-husbands son that was adopted over 40 years ago.
I live in Summerville, SC, I'm researching… Blanton, Munkers, Harrington and Luedke. If you have any information that may help me with my research, please feel free to contact me. Also, when reviewing any of my work, if you see that I have made any error, no matter how large or small, please do not hesitate to contact me & let me know.
Find A Grave where I found valuable information. It gives me a lot of satisfaction when I find the final resting place of a family member and a lot of disappointment when I don't. I appreciate all the work that Find A Grave members have done to make the information and pictures available.

Hi. I searched all over for a stone for you yesterday but to no avail. Then I spoke to the office and, not sure if he was the caretaker/owner (whatever the proper term is) but he personally confirmed the burial and location but no stone. :( I have several pics I'll send to you personally but for the page, I'm uploading a tree where she and I believe husband are supposed to be buried near. The worker even poked around in the bark below the tree but, nothing. I did find what appears as a relatives stone, the next row over, Lloyd Judd but none for Martha or Cornelius.

You're very welcome. There's a message on my page from the manager of the memorial about the obits - maybe she can help with that. I did get locations for Guy & Nancy and uploaded a photo to show their burials in relation to the Maltby stone since they have no stones. Not sure why the help at Greenwood has such a hard time with locations but they couldn't find David Guy either. I'll ask again next time I go. I'll let you know what I find.

You're very welcome. I thought she would be with the other Maltbys but she's actually with the Harrington's at Greenwood. Vera Dorothea Harrington Blanton Miller is on the opposite side of the Harrington family headstone from Mary. Hopefully you can see it in the second photo posted. The creator of the memorial may have insight on where to find the obits for her (there are 3 in the SD tribune). I also noticed that there are no individual marker photos for your Maltbys - do you know if they have markers or would you like me to check since I'll be doing other Maltby photos tomorrow? Just let me know =]

The office said they had no record but they have been know to misfile documents. Do you think she might be with the other Maltbys? Thanks for any hints.

I placed a photo on his memorial #98396980. If you click on the photo the link where it came from is there. Based on the bio you have on his memorial I am assuming this is his wife Nora, and daughter Juanita from his first marriage. If you prefer I can remove the photo.

I'm sorry i'm just getting around to my emails.
This is what I found out about Mary Rachel Blanton parents. I looked it up on GENI:
Father: Benjamin Edward Blanton
Born October 24, 1809 - Died April 14, 1899
Mother: Mary Margaret Feagan Blanton
Born: Sept 1, 1810 - Died Jan 21, 1893
They are buried at Shiloh Baptist cemetery in Rutherford County, NC, their gravestone looks kind of fuzzy, being so old i guess. (You can look it up Shiloh Baptist Cemetery on Find A Grave).
Hope this helps!
