Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am so impressed with the concept behind Find A Grave. I believe that all individuals deserve to have their final resting place remembered and memorialized.

I have added memorials to this site for persons that I am in no way related. If you are, please request a transfer. Family transfer request are a huge encouragement to me. I feel like I have helped another family find their loved one. Memorials that have never been claimed by family or friends make me sad.

Thank you to all of those contributors out there that have helped me by memorializing my family members. You have honored them and I appreciate it!

I believe that individuals should be memorialized and that most of them would like to be remembered with their family. It is one of my goals to link as many family members together as possible. Family links have saved me a lot of time and helped me find family members that didn't know ever existed. When I add a family, I feel like I have honored not only the individual but the whole family.

Let's help the next family member or researcher that visits a memorial by adding all the family links that we know. When family members are not linked, it makes the next person do the research all over again. Also, if we have the information, let's use it before it is forgotten.

I also believe that family links make this site easier to use. The easier it is to use, the more it will be used and the better it will get.

Thank you Find A Grave for providing a platform for us to memorialize and honor our family and friends that have passed.

Helen Lenora Lemke
Hi Melanie,
At first I approved your requested edit, then I noticed that the name of William August Lemke had been revised to August William Lemke. That made me research a little more to see if you were right.

First of all, I wrote a Laberdee genealogy that was completed in 1992. Information on Helen Lemke was provided to me by my first cousin, Fayma Laberdee Wargowski, who was Helen Lemke's daughter. Fayma gave me the name of William August Lemke and Marie Henrietta Selek as her maternal grandparents.

Recognizing that first and middle names were frequently interchanged in the family, I went on and in the 1910 Federal Census, August William Lemke and his wife, Marie, had two children living in their home - sons aged 23 and 26. Helen would have been about 6-7 years old at the time. Her name was not included on that Census - only the other children mentioned.

I then looked up William August Lemke in the 1910, 1920, and 1940 Federal Census and found that William was born in 1866 in Germany. He came to the U.S. in 1891 and in 1910 they lived at 2470 Mellwood Road in Washington Township, Lucas County, Ohio. His wife’s name was Marie H. Lemke, they were married for 14 years, and they had two children in 1910 – Pauline, age 14; and Helen, age 6. Helen Lemke was born in October 1903 so the age would be correct.

Since it appears that your August William Lemke is not the father of Helen Lemke, I deleted the link to his memorial and to his wife’s memorial. It is suggested that you create a new memorial for William August Lemke and include the above information. Once that is done, just ask me for the edit and I will approve the link to the new memorial. I’m sorry if this makes you pull your hair out – been there, done that – I know the feeling.

George and Maud De Lauter
Melaney could you please transfer my Grandparents Memorials to me: You beat me in making them. Their #'s are George 178091802 and Maud 178091865.

Are you a relative of mine? If they are your Grandparents too, let me know. I would love to meet a new De Lauter cousin.

Thanks! Linda

RE: Chronister
I called Memorial Park Cemetery and they didn't have records of either one of the Chronister's (Grable married name)you mentioned. I did find a Chronister (married a Chronister) in the cemetery in Chaffee. Union in Scott County and you can pull her up that way if you are interested. Her husband must still be alive since he has no death date on stone. Will keep my eyes open for that name for you in the future.
