Bio Photo I was born in Jamestown,Fentress, Tennessee. I love them there hills. You can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl. I think I am related to just about everybody in Fentress County one way or another and proud of it. As you can see from the photo I go through a lot to FIND A GRAVE!

Thomas Stephens/Jennetta Stephens Cobb
Hi JoAnn - I have a question for you with reference to:
Thomas Stephens #7521794 (Rev. War)
His wife: Sally/Sarah Miller #7521806
Their daughter: Jennetta Stephens Cobb #53611317 (originally managed by you).
Her husband: Jesse Cobb

Do you have any documentation to prove that Jennetta is a daughter of Thomas? So far we haven't been able to find documentation! Women descendants of both Zorababel & David Stephens (sons of Thomas) have been proven to Thomas in DAR.

Another son, Sevier Stephens, appointed Jesse Cobb as his power of attorney before he (Sevier) headed off to Mexico as a soldier in 1847. Sevier died in Mexico in 1847. The document doesn't say that Jesse Cobb is his brother-in-law, however.

Albert R. Hogue in his 1916 "History of Fentress County, Tennessee" on page 83 states that Jesse Cobb married a Stephens girl & settled in Poplar Cove.

Bruce York in his "York's Fentress County Tennessee" says that Thomas & Sallie/Sarah had a daughter who married a Cobb.

JoAnn, do you have a tree on Ancestry? If so, what is the name used? Also, have you done any DNA testing? I'm getting ready to contact a person through Ancestry whose DNA matches mine in the Stephens line!

Thomas & Sallie/Sarah are my 5th gr. grandparents. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks so much.

Ina Wilson
I don't know what happened here. Her headstone is in the name of Wilson. My original request was for Ina Bilbrey, so apparently all is good now as her memorial is listed as Ina Wilson now.

Apologies for any confusion. The photo has been uploaded to the Ina Wilson memorial.

My grandfather was Jame Allen Smith (married Verda Rich). His father was Andrew Jackson Smith aka Happy Jack (died in 1942) I see that you have posted a photo of my great grandfather Happy Jack. Where or how did you get the photo? As you look at the photo is Happy Jack on the right or left? My father (who remembers seeing his grandfather a long time ago) thinks the image on the left is his grandfather Happy Jack. Thank you.
