Bio

I am a History Major, living in Independence, Missouri. I have ancestors in cemetery's all throughout Ray County, MO and am trying to fulfill all photo requests for these cemeteries.

I am the Board President of the Ray County Genealogical Association. If I cannot find the headstone, an obituary will be provided. Please donate by sending money/checks to the Ray County Genealogical Association, at 901 W. Royle St., Richmond, MO, 64085. $25 a year for a Genealogy Membership, which gets you our newsletter in the mail and access to more records to research Ray County. All donations go towards keeping the organization thriving and preserving Ray County records.

My mother's side has mostly resided in Ray County since the 1800's (Ex: Lentz, Seward, Weary, and Chenault.) Also, includes Robertson, Jordan, and Harding. But, my father's side is located in many different areas. Example: Rogers from Lebanon, MO and Dyess, AR; and Knight and Roberts from Detroit, AL. Also, searching for Scott, Davis, and Stansberry in Watauga County, North Carolina.

I look up obituaries in old newspapers for all my relatives at the Ray County Museum and post them on here and would be willing to look up an obituary for someone who has a relative from the area. Obituary requests are 25 cents a copy, to be paid to the Ray County Genealogical Association.

I have added many memorials for people I am not related to, (most of whom are in Higginsville cemeteries) and would be willing to transfer them if there's someone out there who has more information on them. I don't care if you're an immediate relative or even a relative at all, as long as you have information to add. Send me links if you have the links to someone's family. Welcome any corrections. If you don't include your # in a transfer request, it won't happen.

If I add a memorial to a cemetery, because my research says they are buried there, and then a memorial for that same person that was in the wrong cemetery is moved to the proper cemetery, but created beforehand, does not mean that I have to delete my memorial. You can take it up with someone who cares about your complaints and has the power to delete my memorial. I put it in the right place, when there was no memorial there for that person, and your memorial with less information and obvious little knowledge about the person's burial information does not mean it's superior. Rarely, am I going to delete my memorials, unless I did make the mistake of creating a duplicate with less information. I have intentionally created duplicates because owners of memorials have no information on memorials, are refusing to add information or transfer them, and my duplicate is providing tons more information for researchers. Make your memorials with all the information and photos that mine have and I'll delete mine. Creating a memorial first seem to be all most members here care about.

Feel free to send requests for Ray County research to my email: [email protected]
