Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am glad to transfer memorials to anyone who has more information about the deceased than I do or is more directly related to the person than I. However, I would appreciate a request through the "Suggest a correction..." function on the memorial page. In it, write something like "Please transfer because {insert your reason here blah, blah - whatever you want to tell me.} That makes it so much easier for me because the system generates and sends an email to me with direct links to the memorial, making it SO much easier for me to handle your request. NOTE: I probably won't transfer to anyone who has been a member of findagrave for less than 6 months. Why? Because I've found some folks will sign up, quickly request transfers of all their family members, then get bored and don't make corrections after the newness of the site has worn off.

If you don't understand "Suggest a Correction", also referred to as "SAC", see this short video: How and Why to use the "Suggest a Correction" feature.

After a few years of just using the site for my research, I've decided to spend some of my spare time "paying it forward".

If you're like me and have been able to tie up loose ends in your genealogy using this site, please help out by contributing information whenever you can.

I live in Arab, Marshall Co., Alabama, was a lawyer once, and am now a critical care nurse.

TVA: If you're interested in knowing what graves were moved by TVA while building the dams and lakes, see this database and read this article "Drowned towns" (Some graves were not moved, but left to be covered in the water, by the way.)

Side note: If I add any information other than what is shown on the marker, I try to remember to include the actual transcription on the memorial. Since I didn't do that when I first started, not all of my memorials include that info.

An example of how you can add a ton of useful information to a memorial using HTML code: My Dad's memorial.

The Alabama Cemetery Preservation Alliance is a great resource.

Check out the Facebook Page I manage for the Arab Historical Society.

addidng pictures
Johnny, or anyone that reads this and can offer some advice.

I have been taking pictures and adding for years. I recently got a new phone with a pretty good camera on it so starting using it to take the pics. Downloaded the photos to comp. cropped out excess and posted to site. No matter what I seem to do, the photo is sideways. At first I was not going to leave it on the site sideways, but thought maybe it was better than nothing. Hopefully I can figure what the problem is and go back and fix. Any suggestions??

Hope all is well. Thanks for your wonderful work with findagrave.

Family links ~
Thank you so very much for making all the links today including 63390641. A gentleman in California was trying to find family members in Alabama and now the links will be helpful to him. Kind regards, Nancy

RE: Transfer reqs
I regret if I caused any confusion. I had sent reqs previously and after a period of days without any response I read in your bio that you do not transfer to people with less than six months membership. That's when indent the email asking g for special consideration and I went ahead and deleted my reqs. Against sorry for any confusion but thank you for transferring these to me. I have added some details and bios to them already. And thank you for your efforts in establishing these sites. Best wishes. PH

Dean Cardwell Talton
Hello! I see that you are reluctant to transfer to new members. I have another account under the same name that I lost the password to, so I had to create a new one. I kindly ask that you transfer my Grandmother, Dean Cardwell Talton 63535884 but understand if you cannot do so. I have updated her date of death, and location where she passed. Thank you and have a blessed day!

Transfer reqs
Mr Tidmore I see in your bio that you are reluctant to transfer management of sites to people who have been members less than six mos. I understand your hesitation and appreciate your concern for guarding the sites. However I would appreciate your consideration for the memorials I have requested. I am on a journey to link a very large family most of which I hold extensive info and knowledge and I anticipate being a member henceforth and forever more. I intend to work at length to achieve this goal and entered this journey with the understanding that it will take a very long time to do what I want to do in linking all these people. I have this far come a long way and the transfer reqs I have submitted to you would further link many that appear missing at this current time. Your consideration in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you P. Hunt
