Bio and Links
Bio Photo My Grandmother told me stories about our ancestors on both sides of the family. I am into genealogy because she knew all of that info and passed it on. I learned about Find A Grave though a very distant "cousin" in Hawaii and it has added so much detail to those stories.

Hi Carlene,
Thank you for appending a bio sketch to the above registry.

I've been researching his 2nd wife's family for a friend.

Re: your second paragraph. I believe only one child, Alex, was born of the first marriage. I can find no daughter, "Mary A." Second wife did have a daughter, Margaret, and a son (Rollin) in her first marriage. The son adopted the Stoddard surname.

The 1940 census shows the 3 children in the household, all with surname Stoddard.

Very much obliged for the sketch.

Christian Deaner family - Boonsboro Cemetery
Carlene, thanks for the information you have in the bios on the Deaner family which is so helpful. I have been taking photos of the stones there and linking them to family. I was wondering if you know why Isabella Shaw, 1794-1875, is in the plot with the Chrisitan Deaner family? Do you know who she is? Her stone is next to Mary Ellen Deaner on one side, and, I believe, the Christian Deaner monument on the other side. She is Isabella Shaw, wife of Mathias Shaw. I have tried to research her, but cannot find out anything. I thought she might be the mother of Mary Ellen Deaner, but that doesn't seem to be the case after reading the information you have on Christian's three wives all named Elizabeth. Seems like Isabella Shaw should be related to the Deaner family. Just curious.

Old vs. new
Within the past hour, I received a SAC (Edit Tab > 6th option) from you on a memorial I manage. You expressed your preference for the "old" format over the "new" so I presume you were looking at the Beta site ( Your message ended with "Sorry, you haven't done yourself any favors." I'm a Find A Graver user, just like you, so I have no control over the format although I do understand the "coding" was out-dated. For your message to get to the "right people", click the link above to go to the new site and look in the lower right corner of the page where you'll see an orange-ish colored semi-circle with the words "Beta Send Feedback". Click in that semi-circle and a dialogue box will open up for you to send your message to Find A Grave.

Lt. John Webb

You created a site for Lt John Webb at Dayton National Memorial. There is no listing for a John Webb in the National Grave site Locator, and with a date of death of 1811 I doubt that Dayton National even goes back that far since it was started after the Civil War.

I notice the link for his wife has her buried at Lost Creek Cemetery. Maybe he is there.

RE: Elizabeth Himes Hedder Russell 11860372
I do know this Himes family lived in Washington Co, MD, and Keedysville would be very near Sharpsburg/Antietam. Thanks for the information. It's fascinating to try to connect all the dots. Jane

Hello Carlene, I'd love to know the source of notes that you left at Elizabeth Himes Hedder Russell's Find A Grave site. Your information agrees with mine, but I'd love to know if you are related or have family history that I don't. I'm descended from Elizabeth's sister Nancy Himes Summers. Thanks in advance from Jane

Keedy / Geeting family
Hi Carlene - I am interested in the information you have on the Keedy / Geeting family. My grandfather was George Herschel Keedy and we are from the George Washington Keedy lineage. I am wondering if this Keedy Cemetery is the one found out in the country, surrounded by farmland, not far from Eakles Mill? Thank you - Darcy Scheerhoorn
