I am at present 90 years old. I was born 8 September 1927 in Challis, Custer, Idaho where I lived until I was 10 years old.

In 1938 when I was 11 years of age and in the 6th grade, we moved to Boise, Ada, Idaho for a year as Dad was sueing the Insurance for non payment of a monthly income he should have been receiving for 17 years. He won the suit but had all type of expenses for the lawyers and doctors before he got the settlement amount which was left for him.. His share after all the expense was $80,000 which was still a large amount in 1939 when he finally won the case.

In 1939 when my father Charles Rolland Cook #9533870, mother Star Macey Kellogg Cook #9533898 and I moved to California. We lived there 50 years.

When we left Idaho we had planned going to the New York Worlds Fair before going to Arizona to live. My father had been an invalid for many years before his doctor said he should move to Arizona for his health. Our route took us to Utah to see my 2 sisters, Lucy memorial# 104819991 and Mildred memorial# 72903211. On arrival in Utah we found my sister Lucy quite ill and not expected to live so plans changed to leave for Arizona immidiately with my sister and her four children. We took a route that took us to Palo Alto, California where Mom's three sisters lived expecting just a two week stay but after about a week or so my father and sister made such improvements healthwise it was decided we would remain in California. If their health changed we would then contiune on to Arizona but it never came to pass.

In 1989 my mother and I moved back to Idaho where she died a month later and I stayed for another 17 years then moved back to California in 2006 where I am now. Hopefully not to move again. If I do it will be to a warmer area.

I worked for Ma Bell for 12 years and for the Navy 40 years retiring in 1988. In 1992 I took another job as the water lady in Osburn, Idaho for 10 years when it closed. In 2002 went to work in a call center for a year till it closed in July 2003. Finally another call center in 2004 a year and half till decided to move back to California in May 2006. This time I have been retired so far 10 years and really plan staying that way. LOL.

I had two children both having pre-deceased me. They each have their own Findagrave memorial. My son's Memorial Number is 9533926 and my daughter”s Memorial Number is 166626119.

The family I have left at the present live close by. I have my son's family living about half mile from me here in town.

My daughter's son, daughter and husband are currently in Klamath Falls Oregon but are making plans to move to Idaho soon. Her other daughter is living with me in Tulelake, California. My other grandchildren live in Idaho, Washington and Arizona but I seldom see them if at all as I quit driving so do not travel anymore.

Now I spend most of my time researching and playing on my computer and just fooling around. LOL

I have actually been a member of findagrave since 2004 although it says different. I could not remember my email or password to get back in so had to rejoin. I am adding family asap that have not all ready been added.

The memorials on my sight that bear my name as the caretaker are all bloodline relatives or their spouse with their siblings when known. I link to all others. The only exception I might make is if the person memorialized is in my family tree, or was a close friend of mine.

My family records all appear on the LDS Family tree, at www.familysearch.org/tree including living members that are visible only to me, of course.. I am constantly working with LDS family tree and Find A Grave as they are the only ones I keep up anymore.

Although I have sites on www.geni.com, www.ancestry.com and www.myheritage.com and several others I have forgotten the URL for, I no longer keep them up nor have I removed what is there as I like to share my information as most do
